TV

The condo has 2 Roku devices for streaming TV, movies, and music: the TV in the living room and the TV in the first downstairs bedroom. The third-floor bedroom also has smart TV for gaming or screen mirroring. There is no cable TV.

Amenities

  • Sheets and towels are provided.
  • The kitchen is stocked with staples, including salt, sugar, flour, oil, coffee, tea, non-perishable condiments, etc. You are welcome to help yourself.
  • The kitchen also has a microwave and toaster oven.
  • The condo has a working clothes washer/dryer and dishwasher. Help yourself to detergent within reason.

Heat

There is baseboard electric heat in most of the rooms and a gas fireplace on the main floor. Use the thermostat to the left of the brick mantle to turn the fireplace on. Please do not set it higher than 70. There are extra blankets in all the bedroom closets. The switch next to the thermostat is the heat circulation fan.

There are 2 Rinnai heaters on the first floor – one in the entryway and one in the bunk room. Buttons on the front adjust the heat for those.

Garbage

Please throw bagged garbage in the dumpster in the lower (downhill) parking lot to the right as you face the street.

Parking

The upper and lower parking lots of Spaulding Court serve 8 units; each unit is allotted space for 2 cars but we don’t have assigned spots. You can park anywhere in the upper lot. Please do not block any doorways, stairways or paths and generally be considerate of others while you are staying here.

If you need to park more than 2 cars during your stay, please use one of Sugarloaf’s overnight lots.

Quiet Hours

No noise after 10p. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Thanks.

Fun Stuff to Do

Spring/Summer Carrabassett Valley Recreation Center Swimming Pool

During the summer, the town opens an outdoor pool that is open to members and to the public for a small fee.

Hours and directions here:

Anti-Gravity Complex

The Antigravity Complex is a fitness facility at the base of the access road, just off Route 27. The Complex is located behind Mountain Side Grocers and is operated through a joint partnership between the Town of Carrabassett Valley and Carrabassett Valley Academy.

Amenities include two Olympic trampolines, an indoor rock-climbing wall, a multi-purpose court with a running track and a fully equipped weight room, which encompasses our entire upstairs.

Narrow Guage Pathway

The Narrow Guage Pathway is a 6-mile non-motorized trail for x-country skiing, snowshoeing, walking or biking. Pets are allowed and there are multiple trailheads maintained by the town.

See maps and trail conditions here:

Poplar Stream Falls

To visit this scenic waterfall, with drops of 24 & 51 feet, turn right onto Carriage Rd off Rt. 27 at the Valley Crossing in Carrabassett Valley. Continue on the Carriage Rd for approximately 2 miles, turn right at the first dirt road, bear to the left and park. This portion of the road is a bit rough, so use caution. There is a nice swimming hole at the Falls located by the road. (Please note that a portion of Carriage Rd is seasonal.)

Permission to use the Carriage Rd is granted yearly by the generosity of the Penobscot Indian Nation. The road is closed from (approximately) Nov. 1st to May 15th.
